How it all began ?
It all began when Charles Bettendorf was a child and discovered a passion for horses.
He started riding at an early age, and took part in his first competitions. Then, in 1967, his parents bought a first horse, in 1968 a first mare, a second mare and in 1969 the first foal arrived!
These two mares were the basis of everything, and the breeding began little by little, with the rest to follow.
How do we select our horses?
First and foremost, it's the way they work that's important, so we choose horses that appeal to us because of their jumping ability rather than their origins.
Our vision of breeding
We try to keep our breeding as natural as possible. Our mares and foals live outdoors in large meadows, and in winter they are kept in loose housing where they have access to good hay.
